sjm-11Steve McCosker is the Dealer Principal of DC Motors.

Steve has been in the Automotive Industry for more than 30 years.

Prior to the purchase of DC Motors in August 2006 Steve was the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand of GE Automotive Financial Services, the largest Automotive Financier in the world.

Steve was born in Rockhampton while his father was stationed here as a Stock and Station agent for Australian Estates but spent his early life on his father’s sheep and cattle properties in the St George region.

He is also a graduate of GE’s renowned MDC program which is a Harvard University program for Managers based at the Jack Welch Centre in New York.

Steve’s aspirations for DC Motors include making the business the best Automotive business in Central Queensland and a business that serves our employees, our clients, our franchisors, our suppliers and the community in a manner that creates and maintains optimum satisfaction and reputational standards.

Steve demands that the highest standards of ethics and integrity prevail at all times at DC Motors. The reputation of the business and the reputation of the employees are hard earned and must never be compromised.

Steve is committed to the local community and has great optimism for the future of Rockhampton and the Capricorn Region. He understands the responsibility local business owners have to the Region and is active in the following organisations:

Ø  Director, Capricorn Tourism and Economic Development Limited Board.

Ø  Committee member, Youth Outreach Centre.

Ø  Chairman, Steering Committee for the Central Queensland Young Business Leaders Network.

Ø  Committee member, Rockhampton Regional Council’s Sports Events Committee.

DC Motors was purchased from Mr Neville Callaghan in 2006 and Steve is very conscious of the 47 year legacy of Mr Callaghan and the responsibility that exists to uphold the values that go with that legacy and to develop the business as a transformational business and one that grows and develops with the Region and realises on the potential that the Region and the industry will present in the years ahead.
